Like no other genre, Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror takes the question of “What if?” and runs with it. In their near-future/dystopian/alternate reality settings, M.R. Carey, Tim Lebbon and Kit Power present us with their own, dark brand of What Ifs. Happy ending not guaranteed.

About the speakers

You may know Mike Carey from his record-breaking run on Hellblazer, or from the impressive Sandman spin-off title Lucifer. In fact, a fair portion of his output has been concerned with either Hellblazer- or Sandman-related stories; throw in the work that he’s done with various X-Men titles, and you get a fair picture of what to expect from this writer.

Kit Power lives and writes in Milton Keynes; mainly dark genre fiction of various flavours. He also blogs regularly and reviews occasionally for The Gingernuts of Horror, and he's a serial podcaster. He insists that Robocop is The Greatest Movie Ever Made, and he's not kidding.

Tim Lebbon is a talented, highly-respected author, and the winner of the British Fantasy Society's August Derleth Fantasy Award for Best Novel (2006) for Dusk, the first of his "Noreela" fantasy saga. It was followed with the release of Dawn, and 2008 saw the publication of Fallen. He hopes soon to have titles that are longer than one word.
