About the speakers
Melinda Salisbury is the twice Carnegie nominated and bestselling author of multiple young adult novels, including the Sin Eater's Daughter series, the State of Sorrow duology, and Hold Back the Tide, published in March 2020. She lives on the East Sussex coast and is a passionate vegan, (bad) mother to many plants, and likes to travel.
Danny Weston’s debut novel, The Piper won the Scottish Children’s Book Award in 2016. His third book, The Haunting of Jessop Rise was shortlisted for the Scottish Teenage Book Prize is 2018. His latest novel, Inchtinn, is set in the 1950s and tells the story of a boy and his mother, marooned on a supposedly uninhabited island in the Firth of Forth. Danny has also published many other titles under his other name - Philip Caveney.
Caroline Logan is a writer of Young Adult Fantasy. Her debut novel, The Stone of Destiny, is the first in The Four Treasures series. She is also a high school biology teacher who lives in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland, with her fiancé and dog, Ranger. Before moving there, she lived and worked in Spain, Tenerife, Sri Lanka and other places in Scotland. She graduated from The University of Glasgow with a bachelor’s degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology. In her spare time, she tries to ski and paddleboard, though she is happiest with a good book and a cup of tea.
