About the event

Like no other medium, books allow us to walk in other people's shoes. In their stories, comic writer Gary Chudleigh (Plagued: The Miranda Chronicles) and novelist Kim Lakin-Smith (Rise) explore the concept of society scapegoats, and how fostering mutual understanding may be our only hope.

About the speakers

Gary Chudleigh is an award-winning writer from Glasgow who has a decade of experience creating fictional content. He’s most known for his critically acclaimed young adult sci-fi series, Plagued: The Miranda Chronicles, with BHP Comics.

Kim Lakin-Smith is the author of Cyber Circus and Rise. Her fantasy and science fiction short stories have appeared in Black Static, Interzone, Celebration, Myth-Understandings, Further Conflicts, Pandemonium: Stories of the Apocalypse, and other magazines and anthologies. Kim is a regular guest speaker at writing workshops and conventions.
