Meet two authors whose heroines don’t shay away from conflict and have to use every ounce of will and power to break through their society’s customs, conventions and boundaries.

About the speakers

Tasha Suri was born in Harrow, North-West London. She studied English and Creative Writing at Warwick University and now lives in London where she works as a librarian. To no one’s surprise, she owns a cat. A love of period Bollywood films, history and mythology led her to begin writing South Asian influenced fantasy.

Jaine Fenn is a British Science Fiction and Fantasy writer, author of the Hidden Empire series of space opera novels and the Shadowlands science fantasy duology. Her short stories have appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines and been recognised with the BSFA Short Fiction Award. She has also written for Warhammer (Age of Sigmar) and Dr Who (Big Finish) and for video-games in the Halo and Total War franchises.
